With 63 acres of Hampshire countryside at
our disposal, we thought it was high time to offer our hotel guests
something unique and truly spectacular! As of April 2011, please
join us in welcoming some fine-feathered friends as Lainston
becomes a home for hawks and owls!

site FALCONRY displays
Experience the true art of falconry with
Billy, our resident falconer. Located in the fantastic surroundings
of our Kitchen Gardens, residents and non-residents alike will be
welcomed to enjoy our weekly displays on Sundays where you’ll be
able to see a selection of birds and be able to talk to our
resident expert, Billy Taylor.

Kindly note there will be no Falconry Displays on the last
Sunday of each month during the Winter schedule.While you are here

Falconry Experiences
Not only do we have our weekly display open to
all but private demonstrations and interactive birds of prey
experiences are also available to book. Take the opportunity
to get ‘hand-on’ with one on one or small group. Hawk Walks,
Hunting with Hawks and Meet the Birds are all designed to give you
new experiences and leave lasting memories. Birds of prey
experience days are ideal for all ages - perhaps a perfect
gift?

Meet the Birds - Falconry Experience – Approx 2½ hours
duration
A morning or afternoon spent with birds of
prey is quite unforgettable. You will meet the hawks, observe their
individual characteristics and see close up the partnership that
exists between falconers and their birds. You will be given the
opportunity to fly a variety of birds of birds of prey and have as
many photo opportunities as you could wish for.
£75.00 per person
Family rate of £250 for a family of four (2
adults, 2 children)
Prices are based on a minimum of two people
taking part.

Hawk Walks – Approx 1½ hours duration
Join Billy and fly his Harris Hawks around
some stunningly beautiful Hampshire countryside. You will have the
chance to see these magnificent birds of prey in their natural
environment.
Hawks will fly between the 13th
October and 24th March, during the spring and summer
months we are able to host this experience with our Owls.
£45.00 per person (minimum 2 people, maximum
6 people)
Family rate of £150 for a family of four (2
adults, 2 children)
Prices are based on a minimum of two people
taking part

Hunting with Hawks and Falcons – Half Day (2 ½ hours) or Full
Day (5 hours)
For those wishing to make the very most of the
opportunity and sample falconry in its true form join Billy and his
birds on a hunt for rabbits and other quarry. You will be given
your hawk for the duration of the experience and will be instructed
in the basics of how to carry and recall it. You will then proceed
to the hunting area to see the birds in action.
Available to experience between the
13th October and 24th March
Half Day - £150.00 per
person
Full Day - £250 per person including a
picnic lunch

Static & Flying Display – 1 Hour
For corporate events or weddings why not WOW
your guests with an amazing flying display from Billy’s wonderful
birds. The birds will be tethered so that your guests can get a
close view of their natural beauty and Billy will fly them and
answer any questions they might have. Please note this is not an
interactive experience. The display will last approx 20
minutes but additional displays can be purchased.
£300 for a 20 minute display
Additional 20 minute displays £80 each

The
Perfect Proposal
Looking for a proposal with a difference? Look
no further! Come to us and enjoy a late lunch, take a stroll
through the grounds before having an owl soar to you with a ring in
his grasp. What could be more perfect?
Wedding Ring Bearer
What better way to have your wedding rings
delivered on your special day than with a beautiful Barn owl flying
silently down to the aisle. An amazing experience and one your
wedding guests will never forget. The owl will deliver your rings
and will stay around after the ceremony for your guests to take a
closer look.
£250 for Ring delivery and 20 minute static
display (flying display not included)
