Behind the Bar
There is no shortage of theatre when it
comes to the Lainston Bar team, having won many awards between them
within the cocktail world, they are happy to add a dash of
showmanship to each glamorous glass.
Lainston Bars Manager, Francesco Oglialoro is a true showman and
of the humble cocktail says...
A ‘cocktail’ is an absolutely superfluous and
unnecessary thing. Just as a painting, a statue, a piece of music,
a work of art all things that we don’t ‘need’, are unnecessary.
Today, a cocktail has a place only if it gives pleasure, if it
arouses emotions, if it brings joy like a fine painting, a statue,
a piece of music or a work of art. That is why I’m convinced a
cocktail 'must' be good. Otherwise, seeing that we don’t ‘need it’,
why should we drink it?
Sex and the City is at Lainston!

To celebrate the success of the flick chick of
the year, our Bars Manager, Francesco Oglialoro has created a
fabulously glamorous 'Sex and the City' Cocktail - just
ask the bar team to make one for you!
And if you're feeling creative, why not try
making one of these at home? The ingredients are listed below
but to find out exactly how to make it, come and ask us... the team
are here to help!
The ingredients are:
- Hendrick's Gin

amongst the best in the world and whilst he is happy to explain and
demonstrate why to a good degree - there is one secret ingredient
he adds that he will not reveal!
Would Francesco divulge the secrets of his famous Martini’s? The
answer is no, but he has agreed to share the makings of one of
his favorite cocktails that keep guests coming back for
more....
